How do kids learn, how do kids learn? This is early childhood 101 you know. So we've got walking, playing, listening, imitating, modeling, touching, tasting, exploring with your mouth, jumping, running, playing with real things and cause and effect. Okay so here's the list, you guys came up with a great list. I mean this is kind of like I said early childhood 101.

Okay sensory exploration and not just with their mouths and their hands with their exploring with every part of their body, their smelling, and tasting, their touching, a feeling, see movement. Oh does this work? Does that work? How do I get from here to there? All those stages watching and listening trying new things, and then you know things work you're going to do it over again. If they don't work you might not. Asking questions, How many have a two-year or three-year old, you know.

And then that security of a safe familiar environment. Okay you need to have a safe home base to be able to explore. You know around 18 months is that stage where you know kids are walking, most kids are walking and you know they they want to see what's out there, but if you notice they will go a litte ways, and then they come back to mom you know, and hold onto your knees a little while. Oh I think I'll go over here and play for a a little while, then come back to hold on. So they'll be back and forth and back and forth, they need that security and their home base, a homebase. That's what they're looking for we're going to talk about how we can provide that for these kids. Okay alright let's think about the things that we were talking about I think it is important to think about typical development, when we're thinking about How we're going to work with and provide good services for the children that you're working with, because you kind of have to know what should be happening so that you can do a lot of adapting a lot of creative thinking to make the same kind of things happen.
